<\/figure>IRON ISLAND <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n When?<\/strong> 26th-27th of September 2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n Where?<\/strong> BMX Warehouse, Pembroke, Malta<\/p>\n\n\n\n What? <\/strong>A Classic Powerlifting competition and community event<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n Iron Island is an international IPF-rules powerlifting competition hosted by Malta Powerlifting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This event is open to athletes from all national federations who want the experience of competing abroad \u2014 without needing selection for European or World Championships or a place on their national team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As long as your federation approves your participation, you are good to go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If you\u2019ve ever wanted to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 Compete internationally<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 Travel with your club or federation<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 Compete against lifters from other nations<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 Gain international platform experience<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 Network and connect with the international powerlifting community<\/p>\n\n\n\n This is your opportunity.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div> <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Classic Full Powerlifting meet.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Open to:<\/strong> \u2022 Sub-Junior, Junior, Open and all Masters categories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n All weight categories<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Podiums awarded based on GL points, as per below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Top 3 Male and Female in:<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 Sub-Junior \/ Junior<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 Open<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 Masters (all Masters categories combined)<\/p>\n\n\n\n If more than 10 Sub-Junior athletes register, Sub-Junior and Junior divisions will have separate podiums.<\/p>\n\n\n\n IPF technical rules apply. Flights seeded based on nominated totals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 Calculated across all age and weight categories. Per country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 Based on GL points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 Grouped by country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 Minimum 3 lifters per country required to qualify for team ranking. Up to five lifters per country, determined by GL points, will count toward the final score.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 Must belong to an IPF-affiliated national federation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 Federation approval required via official email. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 Athletes will be nominated with their best official result within the last 12 months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 Result must be verifiable on OpenPowerlifting or official competition results must be provided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 Impact on local rankings\/qualifications is determined by the athlete\u2019s national federation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 Participants under 18 must provide signed parental consent and be accompanied by a coach. This must be filled out and sent to mltpowerlifting@gmail.com for registration to be valid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 International records cannot be broken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 Maltese national records may only be broken by Maltese athletes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 A jury may or may not be appointed, depending on available volunteer participation (referees and streaming crew).<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 All results will be published on OpenPowerlifting.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n Athlete Registration:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 Maltese \u2013 \u20ac55<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 International \u2013 \u20ac65<\/p>\n\n\n\n Spots limited to 120 athletes.
